Do Intellectual Titles in Abstract Art Put You Off?

Ocher Sun or The Quest For Oneness Omnipresent In All 

Have you ever looked at an abstract painting and wondered at the creativity behind the title.
To you it is merely an explosion of color. 
To the artist it is a story that is pretty hard for anyone to see but the artist himself.
It is for this reason that I love expressionism that has readable form.
Paintings, not merely paint applied to a canvas. 
Then given an elegant title.
In ocher sun we can actually see earth, grass and sun.

Ocher sun is the circle of creation where the sun gives its energy to the earth becoming one with it and transmuting the energy of oneness into the growth of the grass which then rises and seeks the sun to become one with it again

In My Mom Pays More Attention we see the object of jealousy, we see the jealous brother and we see the mother.

In bird of death we see the transporting bird, we see the dying soul and we see the doorway portal to heaven

Okay call me biased I painted all the above paintings and I love them so.
I love that when I point out the forms, people say oh wow I see it now!
I love for people to get my paintings.
I love that my paintings go beyond mere abstraction to a readable story told with just a few lines and splotches of paint.
I am happy because I know if I don't love my paintings with all my heart it would be silly for me to think anyone else will.
And that is the metaphysical truth of it.

Rock Star Turns Red Hot or the Metamorphosis That is Fame

Looking at my paintings Rock Star and Christmas side by side you see the metamorphosis of a star from  ordinary singer to mega red hot star .

If you look closely at this painting you will see a solo man or woman on stage singing into an upraised microphone. You can also see the stage curtains pulling apart and the pinpoint spots of light coming thru the curtain with a huge explosion of applause over the singer head.

  Now in my next painting you see that same rock star turn into a red hot rock star with all the trepidation such a tremendous leap into the media spot light entails on his face. You can see it in the set of his chin, the tightness of his mouth and the apprehension in his eyes as he peeks through the curtain at his audience

 Christmas - Mitro

A rock star finally meets the big times. The red hot times. This is the full color version of my painting Rock Star in blazing color. In this painting you will see our same star peeking through the slightly opened curtain at his audience with a slight apprehension on his face. Is this what he really wants? Can he really do this is symbolized by his upside down reflection in the blue Christmas tree at the bottom. Fame is a huge Christmas present but is not for the faint of heart.

Fame is a gift, that when it finally comes is daunting but oh so wonderful

 With his Sculpture, Untitled (2000), a basketball hoop and backboard fashioned from steel, crystal, brass, and frosted glass, with light fixtures,

To me this piece is utter perfection the juxtaposition
of the the chandelier against the basketball hoop sublime!

But looking at all of his other work,what can I say but  the man is genius in his art.

 Phenomenal Art, Phenomenal Artist  ( The one above is my favorite.)
