Woke up this morning with the words Sylvia Plath Bell Jar running through my head.
This is a common occurrence for me and I don't think it's strange, I just think to myself what does it mean?
So I pondered and it came to the new painting I just completed is Sylvia Plath's bell jar.
If you look you will see her face with down turned sad eyes and the same bright red lipstick that pops in this beautiful photograph of her.
You will even see the green cowl neck of her sweater in the painting
If you look at the left hand side of the painting looking into the jar a figure of a 1950 woman in a typical dress from that period with one hand on her hip and a pouffy skirt.
The figure in the jar is twisted in despair.
May she have found the solace in death that she sought in her life.
Everything is better up there.
