Ode to a Civilized Society or No Man Left Behind

A civilized society leaves no man behind.
As in the case of natural disasters when we do not leave a family stranded on the roof with the house submerged in flood water until we check out their nationality, we have to start systematically start helping everyone we see in need as soon as they appear before us.
And this mean regardless of border or race.
Doing a lot of work with hunger I hear many good intentioned people tell me, yes hunger needs to be addressed but there are so many people in the United States that are hungry, and we have to take care of them first.
Aid is not a matter of choosing who is more deserving.
Humanity including the animal world  is liquid and flows throughout civilization without regulated lines cutting off this one get help, sorry this one is over the line we abandon him, he is not our kind.
We are all "our kind".
Together with black brown yellow and red skin, we are humanity.
And we must stand together as such, or we will fall to the evil that seems to be taking on such strength in our current day society.
When each and every creature on this planet knows their basic needs will be addressed, and that is food, shelter and water and safety, we will only then see the world revolve towards kindness and peace.
I am going to leave you with a picture I ran across on Twitter just yesterday.
When I saw it my jaw dropped.
Fake Apple Ad I ran across on Twitter
This photo got 30 likes and 20 re-tweets applauding it as humor.
How many of the people who liked it or re-tweeted would have seen anything but sickness in it if they were to miraculously somehow, exchange bodies with the child in the photo and find themselves living his life instead of their own.
My apologies to Apple who I know was also a victim of this photo.
This is the cruelty that I see taking strength in our current society, and it need not come from terror groups when it is coming from individuals who cannot feel empathy.
Let us reach out to this child with love, not with glad it's you and not me.
