My Method of Painting Comes From My Fascination With Psychic Phenomena and The Future

The Color Purple  18" by 24"

I am a metaphysical painter who has studied spirituality for much of my life.

By metaphysical I mean seeing and knowing things beyond the reach of our ordinary senses.

My method of painting comes from my fascination with psychic phenomena and the future.

I have always since early childhood felt the future will unveil not only fantastic new technologies but also undreamed of spiritual awakenings.

I believe that thought is subtle electrical energy and that energy from the resultant thought can actually travel from the subconscious where it is  picked up as prescience to a blank canvas.

This creates scenes that are either;

    Important for me to capture.
Important for the eventual buyer of the piece  to capture.
Important to the world to capture.

Encapsulated, my painting are drawn from inner scenes existing as vibrational energy in my subconscious and are not drawn on the canvas, but actually pulled from the canvas.

I call my art, "Art Purely From the Soul With No Filter ."

It's genre is soft abstract expressionism art, but  it is the way that it is created that makes it much more unique than it's actual genre.

Faced with a blank canvas I do not plan what to paint, I merely swipe paint on the canvas and let whatever picture wants to come up, come up.

I then read the canvas by rotating it 4 ways and seeing what picture has come up.
Once I see the picture I enhance by still only swiping paint and oil pastels with no intent other than to add more color and more shape.
I have never been disappointed, a clearly readable image ALWAYS appears.
It is very akin to reading tea leaves I suppose.

I rarely use a paint brush.

My subconscious sees the invisible energy of a scene, impregnates the canvas with this invisible energy and when I wipe paint on the canvas it adheres only to the energy of the impregnated scene creating a picture.

It is energy from my subconscious that creates the picture and this is why I say it comes straight from the soul.

When I say no filter I mean I do not filter or change any images that come up.

It is also for this reason that the paint on all my canvas is very lightly applied.

This is so it does not cover up, but actually uncovers the painting theme.

What my art means.

My art is about a move to a gentler more peaceful society which is portrayed by gently flowing cartoon like shapes and beautiful bright flowing color.

My work is always about the good in man and in society and it's meaning is always upbeat and positive.

Nothing dark always brilliant light and softness.

By putting out such light in my art I believe I am contributing to peace and happiness, for who can be dark or sad when viewing such brightly colored gentle creatures.

Sisters   3 Feet by 4 Feet

As the subconscious is ones soul I am delighted that my soul appears to be a happy one as my art comes out in playful happy cartoonish like characters and beautiful colors.

The Queen   3 Feet by 4 Feet
Gratitude towards the courage of individual spirit is the main theme that runs through most of  my painting and a knowing that we are moving slowly and steadily towards a kinder and more gentle society and world

I believe that good energy embedded in a picture is good energy added to a household.

I believe the most important character a person can possess, is kindness.

The Universe Talks to the World Though My Art or Things That Go Bump in the Night

As a firm believer in many planes of spiritual existence occurring simultaneously.
I am delighted to see images come up unbidden on each blank canvas I start.
Akin to automatic writing it is automatic painting.
I never know what image will come up until it comes up.
If one buys the theory that anything and everything is electrical vibration which I truly do, it stands to reason that a canvas magnetized with electrical energy for a specific painting would not only be possible but very probable.
For the canvas since it is physical, has to be vibrating electrical energy also.
Add into the mix a artist like myself that  truly believes and so truly allows, and you get psychic images every time you paint.
My work consists of smearing swiping and brushing various colors onto a white canvas and then inserting random slashes of lines with an oil stick, and then as the smears and swipes turn into identifiable images I can only conclude that the canvas is magnetized and holds onto paint in a pixel like way.
Some might say I am cheating that I am drawing, but I assure you I am absolutely not.
I believe that it is my release of control that allows chance.
By not purposely creating I am allowing the universe to paint the painting and with it's divine wisdom it creates exactly what it needs to create for ultimate meaning.
It is akin to the shuffling of tarot cards picked randomly and read but my paintings are more precise because the pictorial aspects are tailor made and each one unique.
I am always amazed myself when the images come up.

The Marriage of the Old Masters With Futuristic Art - Mitro
This particular painting I titled Marriage.
It is the marriage of the old and the new in Art.
The old a knight bridegroom with a Prince Valiant hair cut and a happy go lucky look on his face.
The new an alien bride with a pious sour look on her face as she appears to sacrifice herself to this     marriage.
The preacher is a beautiful purple horse of some sort seen on the left hand side of the painting.
If you look beside the couple you will see a candle lit for the marriage ceremony throwing light on   the union.
You will also see a wedding guest at the very bottom of the left hand side of the painting.
Most important of all if you look carefully at the bottom right hand side of the painting, right below the couple, you will see the future child of the marriage an animal curled in sleep and waiting to be born.
Look for his eye first and his shape should become apparent to you.
As it is set in a futuristic setting the future is absorbing the old and by the fusion of marriage, evolving into the now.

Sea Horse and Lion - Mitro

Sea horse and Lion is a perfect example of my magnetized canvas.
If you look at the bottom left of the painting you will see a very skillfully drawn lion complete with mane
On the right you will see a sea horse and a man in the very bottom of the right side.
I did not draw any of these images they all appear as I swipe paint and crayons indiscriminately across the blank canvas.
There appears to be in my paintings a transference of the energy stream of the scene presented onto the canvas, so my painting vibrate with the actual energy of the scene they present for viewing.

Do Intellectual Titles in Abstract Art Put You Off?

Ocher Sun or The Quest For Oneness Omnipresent In All

Have you ever looked at an abstract painting and wondered at the creativity behind the title.
To you it is merely an explosion of color.
To the artist it is a story that is pretty hard for anyone to see but the artist himself.
It is for this reason that I love expressionism that has readable form.
Paintings, not merely paint applied to a canvas.
Then given an elegant title.
In ocher sun we can actually see earth, grass and sun.

Ocher sun is the circle of creation where the sun gives its energy to the earth becoming one with it and transmuting the energy of oneness into the growth of the grass which then rises and seeks the sun to become one with it again

In My Mom Pays More Attention we see the object of jealousy, we see the jealous brother and we see the mother.

My Mom Pays More Attention to My Brother Than to Me

In bird of death we see the transporting bird, we see the dying soul and we see the doorway portal to heaven

Bird of Death of The Final Flight of The Human Psyche
Okay call me biased I painted all the above paintings and I love them so.
I love that when I point out the forms, people say oh wow I see it now!
I love for people to get my paintings.
I love that my paintings go beyond mere abstraction to a readable story told with just a few lines and splotches of paint.
I am happy because I know if I don't love my paintings with all my heart it would be silly for me to think anyone else will.
And that is the metaphysical truth of it.
Smile.

The Mask

The Mask 11" by 14"
We all wear masks around others until we come to trust them.
With trust comes the removal of the mask.
Some do not have trust in anyone and for those individuals the mask never comes off.

Force of The Circular Energy of Creation

Force or The Circular Energy of Creation  !6" by 20"
As all that is, is electricity and magnetic energy.
This is electro-magnetic energy depicted in very beautiful colors.
Also note that the rolling ball of energy is in constant rotation as energy never ceases to move, and creation never ceases in creation.
The colors did not photograph well.
Actually the color of the original painting are spectacular.
A pale dusky pink with accents of powder blue.

Mother

Mother    16" by 20"  NA

This painting portrays a mothers selfless love for her child and constant devotion even after passing into the spiritual realm.
It is for every mother on every continent and a thank you for their tireless love. You will see a mother with angel wings holding her newborn child on her lap in the middle of a meadow with mountain in the background and a brilliant yellow sun shining it's glow through the mother who then projects it's brilliant glow around the baby she protects endlessly even through death

Night Creature Turning Into Forest

Night Creature Turning Into Forest    11" by 14"     $50,000

If you look at the bottom left of the painting you will see a small green nocturnal night creature with a huge red eye, a night vision eye creeping back into the forest after his nightly jaunt.
You see as he enters the forest he becomes one with it as he totally absorbs the shape and character of the forest and virtually disappears.

Me Snoodle The Poodle at Play

Me Snoodle The Poodle at Play   16" by 20"   $125,000

If you look at the right of the painting you will see a huge blue poodle, a stuffed animal with a sprung  nose.
He is barely tall enough to see over the table where he is playing a game of jacks.
As he plays with his playful energy he is bringing a red poodle between him and the toy jacks to life  and we see it rising from the table.
While the blue poodle is all innocence it is yet to see what the red poodle will become.
Perhaps this is folly of Genetically Modified Organisms where scientists behave with childlike enthusiasm creating monsters in the most innocent of fashion without understanding the devastating repercussions as Me Snoodle here does not.

Yin Yang

Yin Yang    11" by 14"      $50,000
Yin Yang is about the expression of opposites, for without the opposite of itself nothing can be defined.
If you look at the bottom right of the painting you will see the female form portrayed as female with her large presence representing her fecundity for without it new life would not be possible.
Although woman are usually portrayed as the weaker sex the strong backbone of the female shown her indicates that is certainly not the case.
Females protect their young and their mates emotionally and physically.
You will see the male portrayed as a prickly porcupine which attest to man's often stand off nature of all things he perceives as weakness in caring.
Notice women the male is standing on the females back so even though it might not seem it at times , he really does have the females back

Possum

Possum   11" by 14"    $50,000

Looking at my new painting Possum for the last couple of nights and I see that it comes alive at night. Now it is pretty viewed in daylight, but at night it glows like jewel with an inner radiance that compels the eye to it like a magnet.
My painting are abstract and the feeling of the painting is what the painting is about, and even though I have never seen a possum in person, the painting was just, a possum.
When I awaken this morning it dawns on (get it dawns on me) I think aren't possums nocturnal animals?
I Google it and yes indeed they are nocturnal animals.
So once again I am amazed things, are much curiouser in this earthy life than most of us realize. When the painting feels to be a possum and that painting comes alive at night just like a possum, well that is too cool for words.

Christmas/Rock Star Turns Red Hot or the Metamorphosis That is Fame

Christmas - Mitro   16" by 20"   NA
Rock Star - Mitro  16" by 20"  NA

A rock star finally meets the big times.
The red hot times.
This is the full color version of my painting Rock Star in blazing color.
In this painting you will see our same star peeking through the slightly opened curtain at his audience with a slight apprehension on his face.
Is this what he really wants?
Can he really do this is symbolized by his upside down reflection in the blue Christmas tree at the bottom.
Fame is a huge Christmas present but is not for the faint of heart.

Shark

Shark -Mitro

Sharks cause much fear when we let our imaginations

 override our common sense.

The shark can be seen at the very top of the painting

 spotted by his red eye.

The chaos he causes with his fearful presence evolves

into elaborate building blocks of imagined disasters, that

will most likely never be realized, but ruin the quality

of ones life keeping the mind reeling with endless worry.

Bunny Rabbit on a Mission to End World Hunger

Bunny Rabbit on a Mission to End World Hunger - Mitro   16" by 20"   $125,000

The bunny is on a mission.
If you look at the right of the painting you will see a bunny rabbit resolutely marching down a pair of stairs that is framed in yet another painting within the painting.
At the left you will see a vase of water personified with it's own set of eyes half filled with tiny goldfish swimming in it.
The bunnies mission?
She has set out to solve the problem and the pain of hunger.

Coming Out a Time for Compassion

Coming Out a Time for Compassion - Mitro   11" by 14"     $50,000

Ar first glance it this painting appears to be merely a swirl of pink, but if you study it, the image will come up.
The image is of a slender man, a boy really sitting up against the trunk of a tree, you can see his knees bent and he is holding a purple flower in his hands.
He has a big flop of hair and if you look between his bent knees you can also see his mothers face also looking at the flower that her boy is holding.
This painting is dedicated to tolerance for all of those that differ from us in any way.

911 A Hail to Hero's

911 A Hail to Hero's - Mitro    16" by 20"
This picture was painted one full year before 911 but brings up the day perfectly.
It is a perfect example of prescience.
Although some of it is very sad, like the blood you can see pooled on the ground, it is to honor our brave protectors, the firemen and policemen which are depicted by strong trees, one leading the way and the other having our backs.
The twin towers are easy to see and if you look at the top of them you will see the explosion when the airplane hit.
You will see God depicted by a smiley face with his smile wiped off looking down on the scene. What is lost here in this picture because it was cropped but is in the original painting is the devil in the upper left hand portion of the painting standing with his trident, you can see half of him here, all of him in the un-cropped painting.

Church

Church - Mitro   18" by 24"   $500,000

A satirical look at organized religion that deems everyone else's view of the spiritual as wrong, and rigidly declares only their religion is true and those that have other beliefs are doomed to eternal hell. This is a bad picture of a bad picture with it's heavy clashing colors in a heavy gilt (guilt) frame. The frame is cropped out of the painting here.

Red Car

Red Car - Mitro   16" by 20"    $125,000

For red car lovers everywhere.
In the center of the painting you will a red car, a Z sports car and at the bottom right of the painting a white picket fence.
As the picket fence symbolizes marriage and all the attendant responsibilities the Z overlaid on the sports car in the universal symbol of no indicates someone is not yet ready to give up single life quite yet.

Independence for Billy Boy

Independence for Billy Boy - Mitro   24" by 36"  NA
Independence always requires incredible strength, and is usually never achieved unless the pursuer of it is able to tap into it.
If you look at the bottom right of the picture you will see ships setting off artillery fire which can be seen as transparent blue streams of light in the night.
Blue because although some freedom battles must be fought it is still with blue sadness that some death is invariably resultant.
If you look at the right hand side of the painting you will see the ghost, a US Navy Sailor with a distinctive WW2 Sailor's Cracker Jack Tally Pancake Flat Hat Cap looking down on the ships from the sky.
This painting was done in my usual style adding paint to a blank canvas and letting some magnetic quality of the canvas form the paint into a painting.
This is one of my spirit paintings spirit paintings
